Indonesia Travel Highlight – Where to Eat and Stay

Although Bali is among the hottest global travel destinations, Indonesia has so much more to offer (see my previous blog post for more activities to do in Indonesia). In this post, I’ve listed some of my favorite coffee spots and hotels in Bandung, Joglosemar (Semarang/Solo/Jogja),  Makassar, and Bali. If you’re traveling to multiple locations for your next Indonesia trip, I hope this guide makes your stay a lot easier and more comfortable.

Top coffee spots and restaurants

Indonesia is the fourth-largest producer of coffee in the world (as of 2014) and its coffee culture plays an important role in the growth of the country. In many major cities, you will find great coffee spots that offer high-quality drinks and food, good vibes, and beautiful interior design. Below are some of my favorites spots.

The most creative design I’ve ever seen. Not only does it have a cool interior, but the outdoor tables sit in a shallow pool that you can dip your feet into. There is a great selection of food that includes local cuisine (porridge and noodles) and Western comfort food like pizza and pasta.
